Virginia Woolf schrieb 1928 die Biografie eines adeligen Engländers. Am Anfang des Romans ist Orlando ein 13-jähriger Junge und am Ende des Romans, Jahrhunderte später, eine 36-jährige Frau. In der Transition Orlandos erkennt queer Theoretiker:in und Autor:in Paul. B Preciado die eigene Metamorphose und verfilmt diesen Prozess zusammen mit 23 trans und nicht- binären Personen in dem Film „Orlando, meine politische Biografie“.
Überall auf der Welt gibt es Orlandos. Personen, oft junge Körper, die täglich Gesetzen, psychiatrischer Pathologisierung, traditionellen Familienvorstellungen und der Macht der Pharmakonzerne gegenüberstehen. Oliv Heuss und Ruby Rawson haben die Kette weitergeführt und biografische Momente Konstanzer und Züricher Orlandos festgehalten. “Trans sein bedeutet, den Film deines Lebens selbst zu erschaffen.”
Es entstand der 30-minütiger Film Unfreiwillige Poet*innen als regionale Adaption von Paul B. Preciados Film „Orlando, ma biography politique“. Die Premiere fand am 17.04.2024 im Rahmen des Queerfilmfestivals Queergestreift im Zebra Kino Konstanz statt. ✨
Virginia Woolf wrote the biography of the aristocratic Orlando in 1928. At the beginning of the novel, Orlando is a 13-year-old boy and at the end of the novel, centuries later she is a 36-year- old woman. The queer theorist and author Paul B. Preciado recognizes in Orlando´s transition his own and creates the movie “Orlando, my political biography”, documenting this process of metamorphosis together with 23 trans and non- binary people.
Orlando exists all over the world. People, often young bodies, who face transphobic laws, psychiatric pathologization and the pressure of traditional family concepts on a daily level. Oliv and Ruby continued this chain and captured biographical moments of local trans and non-binary people from Konstanz and Zürich. “Being trans means directing the movie of your life.”- Paul B. We created the 30 minute movie „Unfreiwillige Poet*innen“ as a local adaptation of Preciados movie „Orlando, ma biography politique“. The premiere took place on the 17.08.2024 during the queer film Festival “Queergestreift” at Zebra Kino Konstanz. ✨
